1. So long, to the MLB regular season

It’s been a great 2022 year after the lockout scare of the offseason — with a full-length 162-game calendar, stadiums at full capacity from Opening Day, and now starting tomorrow afternoon we get the start of the expanded postseason.

Here are the final standings for the season:

2. Here’s the playoff schedule for the next two days

Two three-game Wild Card series in each league, with every game being hosted by whichever team holds the home-field-advantage — and if you’re a west coast person, it all starts tomorrow morning at 9:07 a.m.

3. Dennis Eckersley says goodbye to broadcasting

A forever legend.

4. Aaron Judge falls just short of the Triple Crown

Aaron Boone decided to give him a rest day for game 162, but over the last week of play he’d fallen just barely enough behind Luis Arraez to fall short of a last-minute Triple Crown attempt.

5. The 2022 batting title winners: Luis Arraez and Jeff McNeil

6. The Dodgers finish the season with 111 wins

Simply incredible.

7. Other highlights from the last day of the season

8. Longtime umpire Tom Hallion is retiring

If the name doesn’t ring a bell, you might know him from the famous Terry Collins rant clip (linked below).

9. Max Scherzer vs. Yu Darvish: 8:07 ET tomorrow

10. The Mets and Braves both finish with 101 wins

This is the first year without a “Game 163” tiebreaker in effect, and so the Braves win the NL East outright (from the better head-to-head record).

11. The surprising news of the week: Jose Quintana starts Game 1

Being honest, I’d completely forgotten he was on the Cardinals — and now he’s starting Game 1 of the Wild Card series.

12. And lastly, the stat of the day: Albert Pujols
