1. The Dodger Stadium goose is the star of the 2022 postseason

Maybe the coolest animal to appear on a ballfield in many years, never having seen a goose of this variety (apparently they — the greater white-fronted goose — live in the Arctic, and don’t typically migrate over Los Angeles) — and might this be a harbinger of the Padres having a chance in this NLDS series?

Somehow, both of the guys in the broadcast booth kept calling it a “duck”.

And maybe the coolest baseball photo this year:

2. The Padres beat the Dodgers 5–3 to even the series

A fantastic, back-and-forth game right from the first inning, with Yu Darvish against Clayton Kershaw—and now a huge third game on the way tomorrow in San Diego.

3. The schedule for tomorrow, with Yankees/Guardians postponed

4. The Braves beat the Phillies yesterday to even the series

A 3–0 shutout, and the defending World champs look more like themselves — with a brilliant start by Kyle Wright.

5. The defensive plays of the day

6. Currently underway in Houston: Mariners 2 — 1 Astros

7. A chance encounter with Nick Castellanos’ grandfather

8. The quote of the day: Tyler Matzek

9. Carlos Correa is opting out of his Twins contract

10. And lastly, the worst swing of the postseason

But hey, it’s expunged — the Padres still won.
