1. Updates on the shocking Fernando Tatis Jr. news this weekend

A sad story for baseball, as maybe the number-one star of the sport get busted for PEDs about a week before his long-awaited return.

And it’s a much sadder story for Padres fans, whose new-look team collapsed last year to miss the playoffs, lost Tatis this year to a long injury from a reckless motorcycle crash, then the trade deadline brings them the best week of their fandom lives — only to have it all spoiled by this.

And maybe it all boils down to a simple advertisement curse.

2. Drew Rasmussen almost threw a perfect game yesterday

Eight perfect innings.

It would’ve been the first perfect game since Felix Hernandez in 2012, and there have been just 23 in major-league history.

3. The Dodgers had a 12-game win streak over the weekend

Ending with a 4–0 loss to the Royals, but their current record (and pace) is one of the best they’ve ever had.

4. The current standings, this Monday afternoon

5. The home runs of the weekend: Albert Pujols hits 688 + 689

If he doesn’t get 700 this year, and he’ll likely be just short, he has to come back for a month or two next season and go for it.

6. The lowlight of the weekend: This kid and his hot dog

Poor guy.

7. The Rangers fired their manager Chris Woodward this afternoon

Woodward is going… homeward.

8. The Yankees are in freefall

They’re still completely safe (for now) to make the postseason, with how historically great their first half was, but the wheels are falling off.

9. A Mickey Mantle card might sell for $10 million

Purchased for $50,000 in 1991.

10. Jacob deGrom pitched another brilliant game

His third start after his return from the injured list, and he went six shutout innings — with a very cool split screen effect here from SNY.

11. Derek Jeter joined A-Rod for the Sunday Night Baseball alternate broadcast

You have to think he was politely masking inner misery the whole time.

12. And lastly, the lottery ticket hand-off of the year
